How to Disable Windows Defender in Windows 10

Windows Defender is Microsoft’s free anti-spyware product, built into Windows 10. Windows Defender scans everything that enters your computer, whether through downloads, networks, messaging programs, flash drives, discs and incoming email for evil file attachments.

Windows Defender notices something evil trying to enter your computer; it lets you know with a message. Windows Defender automatically updates itself to recognize new viruses, and it constantly scans your PC for threats in the background.  The program is enabled by default; you can turnoff window defender whenever you want to better protect your Windows 10 PC using third-party antivirus software.

In windows 10 there are three methods to completely turn off windows defender. In order to disable windows defender permanently in Windows 10, you need to complete the directions given below.

Method 1: disable windows defender using NoDefender Application

NoDefender is a third-party application designed to disable Windows Defender permanently in Windows 10.

1. Double-click on NoDefender.exe file to launch it. Click Next button to further proceed.

2. Step 1 option is appear, Click on Windows Defender settings.

3. Turn off the following three options:

  • Real-time Protection
  • Cloud-based Protection
  • Sample Submission

4. Step 2, Click Disable Windows Defender button to disable microsoft windows defender permanently in Windows 10.

5. Click Exit.

Method 2: disable windows defender using Windows Registry

7. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box and type regedit

8. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender

9. Right-click on the empty space in the Registry Editor’s right pane and choose new and choose DWORD value.

10. Type Dword (32-bit) Value name is DisableAntiSpyware.

11. Type 1 in the Value data box.

Method 3: disable windows defender using Group Policy

12. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box and type gpedit.msc

13. Navigate to the following location: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender.

14. Double-click on turn off windows defender option.

15. Set the state of the policy to enabled and click ok to save the changes.
